Need for Cognitive Closure in Patients with Social Phobia

<p style="text-align: justify;">A comparative study of the relationship between need for cognitive closure, social anxiety, and strategies regulating emotions in phobia was carried out. We examined 135 people (57.8% female; Mage=32.8&plusmn;11.3 years) with a diagnosis "Social phobia" (F40.1, ICD-10), combined other mental disorders (mean disorder duration &mdash; 13.1&plusmn;8.1 years). The comparison group represented by 100 without (53% Mage=35.2&plusmn;6.5 Tools used: Need Closure Scale A. Kruglanski D. Webster adapted M.I. Yasin; Cognitive Emotional Regulation Questionnaire N. Garnefski et al., E.I. Rasskazova al.; Liebowitz Social Anxiety adaptation I.V. Grigorieva S.N. Enikolopov. It has been established that clinical manifestations are characterized high closure used dysfunctional emotional sphere reflected inability to achieve impossibility reducing level which increases motivation avoidance.</p>
